Literary Analysis - TRISMS uses writing in context by analyzing the author, their worldview, the historical time period, and the people group. By studying the literature of the time, students gain an appreciation for great literature.
Writing Success with IEW - TRISMS has integrated the Institute for Excellence in Writing into the writing assignments. Students will practice the writing models and incorporate the styles of the nine units. IEW and TRISMS work in unison to help students gain confidence through practice.
Critical Thinking Skills - Necessary for success, leadership, and survival whether our students go on to college, apprenticeships, homemaking, missions, or any other walk of life. TRISMS develops these skills by asking questions that are not found in rote textbooks, but require the student to take information researched and use that information to form logical responses, their own worldview (guided by parents input), and to detect fallacy and illogical reasoning.
Research Style Investigation - With TRISMS students research and compile information to answer important questions. We teach students to look at many sides of the issue and base their conclusions on evidence and logic rather than opinion.
Teacher Friendly - TRISMS is student directed with mentor involvement. To take the load off the teacher, we provide you with all the Unit Plans, Literature selections, Answer Keys, Worksheets, Quizzes & Tests you need to successfully guide your student through this learning experience.
Organization & Independent Study - No more lesson plans for Mom! Students become responsible for their own education as their book has the unit plans outlined for them. Students’ Research, with mom as a coach rather than the teacher. Organization Skills begin with coursebook organization, essay presentations, and time management. TRISMS helps your students discover for themselves how their learning style works, how to approach their subjects and how to organize assignments to maximize student and teacher time.
College Preparation - The literature selections alone prepare a student for the rigors of college. Add the emphasis on Humanities (a general education requirement at all universities) and the MANY writing assignments in all styles along with research papers your student gains success and confidence to tackle all those college essays and research projects.
Practical Living Skills - Students take charge of their own schedule and organize their time. Teaches students confidence in problem solving. TRISMS teaches students what questions to ask and where to look for the answers.
Communication Skills - By developing superb writing skills with IEW, analytical skills with literature analysis, creative writing, speaking skills with monologues and semester project presentations, students become exceptional at communicating clearly and concisely with expert reasoning skills. By understanding their audience through research, students can communicate at a much higher level with more accuracy.
